Welcome to our site on public procurement. Our aim in creating this website is to deliver timely and useful information to companies and individuals who sell to government entities and enterprises. Our intention is to continually update and enrich the features of this site. We welcome your feedback on ways to make this site more useful to you.
A word about who we are: Gowlings is one of Canada's largest law firms and is at the forefront of this continually developing area of law. Ron Lunau, who is a partner in Gowlings' Ottawa Office, is the head of Gowlings' procurement group and has successfully represented many major companies in bid protests and challenges before the CITT and the Courts. These cases have had a significant impact on how the government conducts its contracting activities. Gowlings' involvement in public procurement extends back to the implementation of the original Canada-US Free Trade Agreement, and subsequently NAFTA. We are proud of Gowlings' contributions to the legal developments in this field. Mr. Lunau is joined in the procurement group by Phuong Ngo, Yves Caron (who specializes in structuring bid responses), Stephanie Pearce, Graham Ragan and Alanna Lawson.
The Gowlings public procurement group can advise you on the complexities of public procurements. Our expertise extends to important international and domestic treaties: the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT), and the World Trade Organization's General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS).
